I Can't Believe It! Hideo Muraoka Adds Me On FB

OMG, I Can't Believe It! Hideo Muraoka Adds Me On FB... lol

It was a great day today, although I don't have much sleep the other night. I even closed to get late at work, almost running just to get on time in the corporate office. When I get to my table and open my computer I used to check mails first before i open my Facebook account. Unfortunately, I don't have a new emails coming from friends or even invitation for an event. So what I did is to look at my Facebook wall, to see some updates from my friends who are online.

Oh, I got messages, notification and friend request at the same time. Lol, its not happened all the time. So, I get to see the my notification first and of course these are coming from people from a blogger group that I have joined. Next is the friend request whom I get shock because I never thought that (I will definitely quote it) "Hideo Muraoka" would ask me to confirm him to be my friend.

Hahaha, At first I thought It's just a fraud or something because I am really not sure if he's the real owner of the said account. Anyway, with my eyes got big and still in horror because its not everyday that a celebrity will invite you to join with their connections is truly so overwhelming.

Of course, what I did, without a doubt is to confirm him. Viola! in an instant, we are now friends... He even message me and I will keep it for my self. (blush, blush)

Maybe I am just lucky today and hoping its not just for today but for tomorrow, in the next day, in the other day and every day!

Thanks Hideo Muraoka for inviting me to be your friend in Facebook and I am so glad and it's my honor to be on your friends list

What Is The Best And Worst BBQ Food For You?

The official start of BBQ season is now coming on this weekend as summer approaches in the western world, burgers, hot dogs, salads and other yummy desserts. Despite the fact that cookout cost has a tendency fail to be the thing that’s going to win some nutrition awards, you are able to partake and still have to walk away along with your shorts buttoned.

It simply means producing the correct choices. You don’t have to restrict yourself to the corn on the cob as well as watermelon. Absolutely pass over the majority of the worst choices; the most effective versions are usually merely as gratifying.

More of the story coming from Nicci Micco in Best and worst BBQ foods.

The Collaboration of RIIR and Oliver Tolentino For MaKULAY Collection

RIIR designer line ups the fashion ante with therecent unveiling of its latest collection, an awe-inspiring collaboration with no less than internationally-acclaimed Filipino couture designer Oliver Tolentino last May 17, 2011.The MaKULAY, as a wordplay of  "ma” means mother and "kulay” as color, the collection aims to pay tribute to the remarkable mothers in Philippine history through the exquisite splash of colour in Tolentino’s design.

Tolentino, one of the most celebrated international haute designers today is a homegrown talent whose slew of recognitions include being named Designer of the Week in March, 2011 at the prestigious Fashion Week El Paseo in Palm Springs, California, USA; winner of the Sustainable Eco Fashion Award in 2010 at the Islands of the World Fashion Week in the Bahamas and one of the finalists at the Oscars Designer Challenge in 2010, among others.

His collections have been regularly featured in international glossy titles like Beverly Hills Lifestyle, Serendipity, and Hong Kong Tatler. His creations have been worn by three Grammy winners, two Emmy winners, an Oscar nominee, an NAACP Image Award winner, and by attendees at the esteemed Oscars and the Golden Globes Awards. Hollywood celebrities Cee Lo Green, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Sophia Bush, Kimora Lee Simmons, Vivica Fox, Patty Austin, Macy Gray, Arnel Pineda, Lea Salonga, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Camille Grammer, Niecy Nash, Tatyana Ali, Eva La Rue, Wendy Davis, and Aly Michalka have all worn his designs.

Tolentino is known for promoting local fabrics and Filipino culture through his pieces. He is a staunch advocate of eco-ethical style, a coalescence of fashion, social responsibility and preservation of the environment.

An interview with Oliver Tolentino as a RIIR Partner Designer for MaKULAY Collection;

Q: What was the inspiration behind your collection?

A: My inspiration was joy and hope.  I wanted the women making the bags, who may feel they live in a grey world, to work with beautiful, cheerful colors and see the possibilities of a vibrant future.

I designed with texture in mind and created different shapes so each bag would be interesting and I wanted them to stand out from the typical brown, tan, black handbags.  I hope they will be conversation starters and confident women will happily and proudly share the RIIR story behind the bags.  Considering that each bag also creates positive impact for communities and the environment, I wanted to create bags where a woman might want to collect all of them since different size bags are paired with different outfits and moods.

Q. How did the partnership with RIIR come about? What made you decide to partner with RIIR for this particular collection?

A: RIIR contacted me and asked me to consider being their featured designer.  My business advisor researched them and started the initial discussions.  He and I are big believers in the "Teach them to fish" philosophy of the Bible.  Don't just give someone fish or money, teach them how to fish or make money. That's what RIIR is all about.

Q: What are your insights on eco-ethical design (in the Philippines and abroad)?

A: Eco fashion / sustainable fashion is the hottest thing right now and wherever I go I promote our native fabrics.  I personally have introduced them to the fashion dean of Parsons in New York, the owners of Paul Mitchell, an eco fabric charity in Hong Kong, the crowd at the Ronald Reagan 100th birthday gala, and my fashion shows in the Bahamas and Palm Springs.  I get a lot of pride out of exposing what we Filipinos can create to people who have never seen our indigenous fabrics.

Q: Who has greatly influenced you as a designer? Why?

A: My mother.  She was a very creative woman in the province.  She opened my mind to colors because she loved flowers.  We once had a garden full of thousands of different species and colors of roses.

Q: What do you think is the international market's take on your designs? Why?

A: They have been very well received.  I combine the colors and intricate  inishings of the East with the simple luxurious fabric and elegant cut of the West.   It's so hard to find special dresses and gowns with intricate little touches with the quality that goes into hand-made clothes.  Los Angeles has welcomed me with open arms in less than 2 years of business there, and I couldn’t be more proud and thankful.

RIIR is an emerging global designer line that was initially established as a social business enterprise armed with a vision to uplift the poor community of Payatas. Now a global Filipino brand, RIIR is one of the most successful designer lines in the Philippines and Asia that promote eco-ethical lifestyle through its products and business philosophy. Adobo Pasta At Kitch Cafe: Food So Good!

It was not so special day although its not one of ordinary days when we gather once again. It's my first time at Kitch Cafe where I find the place so relaxing, maybe because you can not feel the outside world. You even never know what's going on out the cafe. Their chairs, tables and everything looks so good and very fresh in the eyes, in short, it won't even give any stress.

Get together with old friends sounds good and fun, actually they just wanna consume their gift certificate coming from Kitch Cafe when they invited some blogger to witness the new product they have. And I am not included to those who are lucky to join the event.

Their food taste good, I like the adobo pasta they have and the longganisa with cherry tomatoes. They even serve pastries, pizza and rice meals.

It was a fantastic afternoon outs with my friends and maybe some other time we will able to get back here at Kitch Cafe once again to have another wonderful delighted yummy food trip with the rest of the gang.

Justin Bieber: Live In Manila, The My World Tour

I never been a Bieber fans until one day a friend of mine invited me to go with her in the concert of My World concert tour of Justin Bieber. Of course our tickets is complementary ticket only. Two day before the concert we pick up the bronze ticket to SM Mall of Asia from one of the organizer of Poreotics Show at SM Malls. I thought that this Dancers are really really great because winning in an American dance contest is no joke.

Anyway, they have nothing to do with this article, Justin Bieber as we know hit the Youtube and get the fame from the number of viewers he got around the world, until he was been discovered by Usher. Stardom follows as he hit the music chart from the single "Baby".

During the concert night i was thinking twice if will watch it or not. I was thinking of my son because he really likes and idolize Justin and since i was already there I have to enjoy the night and the concert. My friend and I went to the gate and present the ticket, I have seen a lot of kids who is waiting for him to come up on stage, ages from 3 years old and up. Justin's official DJ was been counting down the minutes from 15 minutes left down to 0 and the fans was all screaming and shouting.

video

He was so energetic that you will see him in his eyes that he was so glad to be in Philippines. I think he likes to be here and no wonder why his back up singers are Filipinos called Legacy. Even in his back up dancers, there is one who is happen to be a Filipino too.

My favorite part of the concert is was, when he start to slow down and sing acoustics song entitled I'll Be, personally I like the song and he give it life on that night. I observed that even if its not his original song he still gives life on it.

Another thing is that I have seen not only once, twice but many time the way he walks during the concert. It reminds me the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, even some of his moves. It was just like some of the moves of MJ was been imitate by Justin but has a little distinction, maybe to tell people that he still has his own identity to showcase. Also, the pants that he was wearing on the second part of the concert when he came back, the pants with lines on the side seems familiar with me again is look the same of what Michael Jackson was wearing during concert and shows too. I don't know if i was just missing MJ though I know I'm a big fan of MJ or maybe I would say that there is a new generation of Michael Jackson was born, a reincarnation of King of Pop. Hmmp... why not, I mean they seems to have similarity at all.

Over all, the concert was great and I admit that I did enjoy the night and this is the first time that I appreciate him as a singer and to you Justin, I know that you still have a long way to go, just believe in your self and think intelligently in making decisions in your life. Go with the right way, you can have a future and always keep your feet on the ground because I know that you have been a good example not only to my son but to those fans who is believing in you. God Bless You!
