Each Filipino Is Born To Be A Hero

Last November 8, 2011, established and upcoming bloggers were invited to participate in the Francis Magalona Foundation’s (FMF) first ever BORN TO BE A HERO™ Talk conducted by bestselling author and life Coach Pia Acevedo of The OneCORE Success Center.

Welcoming the bloggers, Pia Magalona, FMF Chairman shared that “FrancisM always believed that in order for the Filipinos to rise from poverty and other issues that concern the nation, they had to believe in themselves and have a change in mindset that hindered this transformation.” This is what Born To Be A Hero™ is all about- transforming your life by believing in yourself, harnessing your inner greatness and ultimately making better decisions for yourself, your family, your community and your country.

The Born To Be A Hero program is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Coach Pia. In the book’s introduction, Coach Pia mentions that after a life changing experience she began to notice all the simple heroic acts occurring around her. Instances wherein people would go about doing “what they were supposed to do,” despite circumstances that may be happening in their personal lives. They chose to be a hero but were not aware of the heroism of their acts. Born To Be A Hero revolutionizes the concept of heroism as any act that calls for you to step out of yourself whether consciously or unconsciously making yourself present to the moment for others – and for yourself.

When taken as a program, Born to Be A Hero enables participants to transform their lives by equipping them with the skills and tools to live out their commitment to their personal development. The program teaches them:

• to harness their inner greatness through the 5 Aspects of the Self, Hero Currency and Wildcards

• to create their own life plan through the Hero Game Plan and Hero Calendar; and

• to measure their success through the Hero Passbook. The Born to Be A Hero Program of Coach Pia and The OneCORE Success Center is the Francis
Magalona Foundation’s way of cultivating in Filipinos a deep self-awareness of why and how other people affect them, and why and how they affect other people.

Through this program, FMF hopes that Filipinos will be able to make DIRECTIVE and INTENTIONAL decisions for him1elf/herself and others with pride, personal integrity and a commitment to positive change.
