Trying Out Some Greek Cuisine At Kos Greek Ouzeri

One of the best tasting and interesting food around the world comes from Greek. They have shared a wide flavorful dish that contributes to the culinary world.

I was invited to experience Greek cuisine that I will definitely recommend to all of my friends to try. Have you ever heard about Kos Greek Ouzeri?

Kos Greek Ouzeri is a restaurant managed by the First Gourmet Academy, one of the Top Culinary School in the Philippines. Kos Greek Ouzeri offers Greek cuisine and is a part of the Mediterranean cuisine that includes the culture of the Mediterranean Sea. Their cuisine is notable of using olive oil. vegetables and herbs, wine, fish and various meats. Also, olives, cheese, aubergine, courgette and yogurt in their dish.

As we step on their restaurant, I can feel the homey ambiance in a little yellow lighting while the fixtures are kinda modern but in the elegant style of interiors.

The restaurant was headed by Chef Mats Loo. This guy knows what to serve with us (bloggers). He was so generous in serving us a feast for that day.

Now, let's talk about our food adventure with Kos Greek Ouzeri. First, we have the  Sampler of 5 with unlimited breads. It's basically in various breads that has 5 choices of spreads such as Mekitzanosalata, Tzatziki, Hummus, Artichoke Spinach Spread and Roasted Cauliflower and Garlic Spread.

I love the Tzatziki amongst the five, it's actually yogurt cucumber dip flavored with garlic, dill, olive oil and lemon juice. Hummus is also flavorful and perfect for the breads.

Next is the Soutzoukakia Smyrneika who is a sausage shaped meatballs cooked in spices tomato sauce. The Keftedakia was also a meatbals but with herbs and spices serve with lemon and yogurt dip.

Here comes the Spanakopita, it's a spinach pie made with layers of filo, spinach, onion and feta cheese. I love the flaky texture of the Spanakopita and the well balance taste of spinach inside it.

Afterwards the salad, soup, and pasta was serve. I was so excited to try their pasta but first let talk about their salad and soup first. Kos Salata was a mixed of greens with sun-dried tomatoes, figs, caramelized nuts, cheese and grapes tossed with honey-grape vinaigrette while their soup called Bourou-bourou was a vegetable soup with pasta and croutons. Sounds interesting right. Salad is very good and the soup is very interesting because of pasta in it. Actually, it's like one of the comfort food of the Greeks, just a guess.

Pasta... oh I love Pasta a lot! Their Pastitio was like a lasagna but actually its not because they use some tubular pasta in it. One the mystifying things about it is that it has two kinds of sauces, it was actually divided in a tomato and bechamel sauce. Sounds mysterious right? But I'm telling you that this dish with turns you up side down.

Oh! here's the entree, Chicken Souvlaki was a skewer meat with roasted vegetables, yogurt and garlic sauce and red bell pepper sauce. The meat was so delicious and tender like you will not going chew it. The explosive flavor of the meat will burst to your mouth.

And now the Lamb Fricasse, actually, this braised lamb cubes with white onion, ouzi, leeks, lettuce and potatoes.

But wait, because the dessert is next in line.

The Glyka Lokoumades and Galaktoboureko was served. OMG! I was drooling to try it, but needs to take a few bites on it because I'm so full at that moment. By the way, our drinks are the Greek Cardamom Iced Tea which is theirs in-house iced-tea and the Tarragon Lemonade which is one of the favorites.

Now, if you’re going to ask me what are my favorites. I am telling you that these are the Sampler of 5, Soutzoukakia Smyrneika and of course the Galaktoboureko. All of the dishes that we tried that day was memorable and have its distinctive taste. However, there are some of it who truly marks on my heart and mind. Kos Greek Ouzeri was definitely served authentic Greek food that you will never taste in other Greek restaurants out there. The best thing about this restaurant is that they know that we all value for our money. So, if you are looking for great foods, plus affordable, decent meals equals Kos Greek Ouzeri.
