Let's Make ADOBO The Official Dish Of The Philippines

Filipinos being patriotic as we take pride our heroes from the time of Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio up to the modern-day heroes like Manny Pacquiao. We are blessed with our natural resources and beautiful 7, 107 islands. We are  also distinguished by our food affection that is why it kinda surprising the we do not have our own national dish.

Most of the Filipinos, if you will ask what should be our national dish they will instantly say, "Adobo!". Mainly because we all grow up with this dish serving in our table and in different occasions that we have in our family. Although, Filipinos have different ways of cooking it, it still Adobo that they are trying to serve for their family.

During the launching, we tried few of the best Adobo recipes that have served to us and I appreciate better the Adobo. My favorites are the Adobo sa Gata, Adobong Pusit  and Adobo Rice really taste good. I am planning to make my version of Adobo rice at home for my family.

The Adobo Queen Chef Nancy Reyes-Lumen talks about the history of Adobo and afterwards, chef Mitchie Sison demonstrate us cool Adobo recipe. We are also being serenade by the UP Rondalla.

Filipinos being creative have tried to innovate this dish because of its versatility so you can adjust the recipes according to your own taste and, of course, depends on the availability of the local ingredients.

It's time to make our own national dishes and to take pride in what is uniquely our own. Furthermore, this is not the first effort to make Adobo the national dish of the Philippines.  Back in 2014, House Bill 3926 led by Hon, Rene Relampagos from fist district of Bohol was filed in congress to declare Adobo as our National Dish, but the bill is still up for final deliberation.

Hence, the Adobo Movement was created to help gather 500,000 signatures to support the House Bill 3926. You can be part of this worthy cause.
